In a moment, I'll share with you how I "deprogrammed" my thinking, and... I'll give you a tool that will help you do the same for yourself.

But first, let me tell you what happens when you get crystal clear about the fact that you've either got to quickly make some BIG changes, or just throw in the towel and go back to the daily grind.

Dec 2003: How it started for me...

I was broke, burned out, frustrated, and at the end of my rope. Do you know what a "dog run" is? That's what my life was. 

I was on a leash that let me leave the house at 7 every morning, go as far as work, and return home tired and exhausted. A life of "getting by". Making just enough to pay my bills to meet the basic needs of existence.

I was working 50-60 hours a week and was close to burnout. My weekends were spent dreading Monday... And I was doing this all for a meager $50- $70k a year! That works out to around $21 bucks an hour – less if you considered my employees could get overtime and I couldn't.

Just enough to keep me on the dog-run.

For two and a half years, I struggled with MLM and various other types of home based businesses.

I plugged away trying to replace my income. I would come home at night exhausted and work my leads.

I "followed the system," bought leads, called my leads, put people on the conference calls and sent them to websites. I did 3-way calls, talked, preached, ranted, sang, and sold the company and products. I was marketing to anyone that would listen.

I was so Naive!

Ok, I admit it! It was brutal and I got creamed. I maxxed out two credit cards and almost went broke. I was disappointed and frustrated. Fed-up and angry!

But I had no one to blame because I was the one that was naive and I was the one who bought into these "deals."

I was naive in not realizing that I was a pawn in the game. A pawn for my sponsor who was the only one benefiting from my hard work.

I was one of his worker drones, one of thousands of people (my drone brothers and sisters) – programmed by my sponsor to line his pockets.

I was also naive not knowing that 97% of ALL other home based entrepreneurs were like me. They were struggling and dying the death of 1,000 small wounds.

Slowly my "brothers and sisters" were running out of money and going broke, just like I was. They had less money NOW compared to when they got started. But what did it matter? Every one of us were replaceable.

I was defeated and was close to giving up multiple times...

I tried to imagine myself in 20 years. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. I might be able to work my way to managing multiple stores at Midas. I'd be close to a low six-figure salary by then and maybe even have a couple hundred thousand in a 401(k). 

But I knew I'd never be RICH. 

I'd never be off that leash. Not at the rate I was going.

Obviously, what I was doing wasn't working. I was completely broke and I didn't know what to do, who to turn to, or who to trust. I was confused and at times even physically ill at what had happened to me.

That's when it hit me!

I realized... All the things I struggled with were the same things everyone else was struggling with. Continuing on that way was pointless.

Once I realized my mistakes, I was FURIOUS at how I'd been taken. I saw that if I continued to follow the instructions and training I was given, it would take me many years to build a residual income that was large enough to replace my job. 

In the meantime I'd be lucky if half my team didn't split off to the "next best deal!"

It wasn't until I voluntarily "opted out" of the insanity that my anger turned to hope when I realized...

I HAD IT ALL WRONG!

I don't have the time here to explain how I made the mental turn, but a couple of years later I sat down with a great friend of mine named Mike Dillard and explained exactly how I reversed my thinking—and changed my life—for good.

The takeaway here is this: When I took myself out of the equation—that's when I started having fun, seeing results and making money (a lot of money!)
